Mr. USAmb Pyatt we are all waiting a new offer from USA. Yesterday we read about the 8th offer. It is written that this offer is the FFGX 62 from Gibbs & Cox. We hope it's true. You must understand that MMSC pattrol vessel can't deal against the threats that the NavyGR will face.
It's not a future proof vessel. It's not even a frigate. Where is the AAW capability, where is the fixed aesa radar? There are so many issues, that we cannot skip, even if LM & Renk manage to solve the problems with the gear box. It's better for the USA to offer us now, not in 2030, the FFGX 62 or try to find an ally like Spain, that she can offer us F110 with all the american systems.
The same can also happen with the british offer AH140 or the Sigma 11515. MMSC can't compete with these offers. It's like comparing day and night. At the end of the day USA will sell us missiles, even if the CMS of our new frigate isn't the combatss-21 or the AEGIS. We need vessels capable of doing war & deal with saturation attacks. We need LRSAMS & MRSAMS. We need new missiles like SM2 blk IIIC/ SM6, ESSM blk II, LRASM.
It's a waste of time talking about a pattrol vessel, that even the USNavy doesn't receive any more. So, is there any possibility for a come back with a new offer, worthy of the other proposals, like the AH 140 etc.?
